I am Denise Nolan, better known as Pizazz.
I started writing at the age of 15. At that age my writings were only about those things that happened around me on a daily basis. By age 21 my writing went to a whole different level. The shift in my writing happened when I experienced becoming a single mother.
Loreal, my oldest daughter, changed my life. While trying my best not to become another statistic, I decided that I needed to do something different, something outside of the norm, so I began writing about the struggles of being a single mother.
One of the first poems I wrote was called "Sistas". It was a poem of encouragement that encouraged single parents not to give up, even though they may face many obstacles. I don’t have a topic that I particularly write about however I prefer writing about the things that life take everyone through. Those things that happen, both good and bad in this world today.
Most of my poems tend to be Christian based because I firmly believe that it is from God that I was granted this gift therefore it is only fitting that I continue to praise him with it.
To date, I have written several pieces of poetry, many of which can be found in my first published book "Untouchable Love".
I am currently in the process of completing my second book, "Who Is She ?" due out very soon, so be sure to look for it in book stores near you.
